Version 2026-10-07.5. Set Trader is run by [Company name] Ltd, [registered office address].

Draft.Replace this page with terms reviewed by a solicitor before taking real payments. Fill in the company details in square brackets.

Set Trader is a marketplace. Sellers sell their own sets directly to buyers. Set Trader is not the seller of any item.

You must be 16 or over to create an account, and 18 or over to sell. Keep your password to yourself. Tell us straight away at hello@settrader.co.uk if you think someone else has used your account.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Buyer payments are held and paid to the seller after the buyer confirms receipt, or after the inspection window ends with no issue raised.

Sellers must grade sets honestly using the grading standard and confirm its checklist for every listing. If a set isn't the grade it was sold as, the buyer gets a full refund when they return it (graded or your money back), and missing pieces on a complete grade are replaced up to £15 under the Complete Set Guarantee. Counterfeit, clone-brand or mislabelled sets are not allowed and will be removed, with the buyer refunded.

Sold as seen. A seller who hasn't checked a set against its parts list may list it as sold as seen, with photos of everything included and an honest description. Buyers can't claim for missing parts on a sold-as-seen set, but are refunded if what arrives doesn't match the photos and description or isn't genuine LEGO.

Offers on collections. Members can make offers on sets in another member's public collection. An offer isn't a contract: the owner can accept or decline it. If they accept, they list the set for that buyer only and the sale goes through Set Trader as normal. Members can turn these offers off in Account.

Fees are set out on the fees page. Prices shown to buyers include the Complete Set Guarantee; postage is shown separately before checkout.

Collection in person. Where a seller offers it, buyers aged 18 or over can choose to collect. The buyer pays through Set Trader as normal and receives a handover code. The seller must enter the buyer's code when they hand over the set; that is the record of handover and starts the buyer's inspection window. If the set isn't collected within 7 days, the buyer is refunded. Sellers must not ask for, and buyers must not make, any extra payment in cash or by bank transfer.

Pay links. A seller who has agreed a sale elsewhere can send the buyer a private pay link. A sale through a pay link is a normal Set Trader sale with the same protection, fees and rules. Pay links expire after 7 days.

Business sellers must give buyers their full statutory consumer rights, including the right to cancel within 14 days.

We collect and report seller details to HMRC where the law requires it.

How we use personal data is explained in our Privacy notice. You can download your data or delete your account from your Account page at any time.

Community

Posts, comments, photos, profiles and groups must follow the community rules, which form part of these terms. You're responsible for what you post and must have the right to share it, including photos.

You keep ownership of what you post. You give Set Trader a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, show, resize and share it on the site and in the newsletter, for as long as it's on the site. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account.

New content, including photos, is screened automatically. Content that breaks the rules is deleted automatically, and off-topic content may be removed by our team. We may remove content, or suspend someone from the community or the site, if they break the rules or the law. We'll tell you what we removed and why, and you can appeal through the contact form; a different person reviews appeals.

Report anything illegal or harmful using the Report button, or contact us. We review every report.
